VCE 005 – Hop In & Hang On

In this episode of VCE Conversations That Count Today we take you to listen to regular podcast host Paul Joy as he addresses a live audience of Year 11 and 12 students at the beginning of the academic year. Paul shares a personal story of finding himself at the top of a water-slide and having to hop in and hang on as the ‘road ahead’ became clearer and darker simultaneously. There are times during the VCE experience when the next thing to do isn’t always obvious or clear. Sometimes you just have to have faith and rely on your previous work and the teachers who are there to keep you on track.

VCE 004 – Anthony Barnhill from YVG

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we all must choose between what is easy and what is right.” Harry Potter

Anthony is a gifted musician who worked hard to find a balance in his life during VCE. In this episode he advises that for him, sticking to strict timetables or study plans did not work, but rather he tried to stay flexible and listen to his own body and energy levels in order to rest when it was required and then be able to press on at other times.

Anthony also provides an overview of the VCE with regards to the scaling of certain subjects. A very clever student, Anthony believes that reward will come to those who put in the application and effort.

His recommended tool is the humble ball-point pen. Listen now to find out why!
